Last week, I had the opportunity to attend Fetish Con for the very first time, and it was truly an eye-opening experience. I had been wanting to attend the event for years, so it was a long time coming. I had no clue what to expect, but I was open and ready for anything, as indicated by the two large check-in bags I brought with Me. Overall, the experience is one that I can't wait to do all over again next year.
Lessons I learned:
1. Bring a personal photographer: In the world of content creation, capturing moments is paramount. My photographer consistently captured great moments even when the resident photographer couldn't. Having him there proved to be a tremendous asset!
(Thursday night Red Carpet photo taken by resident photographer and published to SmugMug -- MY EYES WERE CLOSED??!??!! lol) ===>
2. Network, network, network: Thanks to the many socials and parties offered, I gained invaluable tips from some of the top content creators in the field. It was truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity.
3. Take a day off, away from the con: While packed with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and experiences, conventions like these can be overwhelmingly hectic. Taking My own little "Beach Episode" day to relax and regroup was invaluable.
This year, I wanted to soak it all in and get a feel for the convention's vibe. I made sure to embrace every moment. Next year, I'll be a bit more proactive with making more playtime and photo session plans. Will I see you there?
Provocatively,
GC
